Carina Anne Skrobecki Swain. An all encompassing respresentation of not only those before me, but my own persona. My initials, yes, but Cass also happens to be my husband's middle name, taken from his late grandfather, so the shoe just fit.
I'm a formally trained graphic designer who moved into the world of wedding photography in 2013. A few years in, I was being asked to shoot commercial work — I approached it in the same way I do weddings and ultimately was hooked. Although I love the uncertainty that weddings bring (I like to think it's made me very adaptable), having creative control over the environment also suits me well.
Overall, I’d describe my breadth of work to be one part city, one part nature — I appreciate clean lines, but organic aesthetics, and enjoy mixing up the environment in which I'm shooting. Some days you'll find me in-studio with models in a monochromatic wardrobe and other times I'll be on the back of a boat in Seward, Alaska shooting the last kayaking scene of the day. The variety just works for me and I feel thankful to have a wide range of projects under my belt. Thank you for stopping by and feel free to shoot me an email (found to the left).
